Hospital or Hospitality? Maybe Both?

Reading through the number of medical related blogs on my RSS feed I have been seeing a common theme emerge. Hospitals must adopt a hotel like philosophy to continue to stay in business.

I have seen this in the hospital system in which I work. After building the newest addition to the system the new staff had to take a concierge and customer service class before starting work. Nurses, service personnel, cafeteria workers all now proficient like the Four Seasons staff.

I am interested to hear thoughts from a wide range of health care workers and patients to hear how making the hospital more like a hotel would impact their work or their stay!

Will this help or hinder care???
